Only have a few days to spend in Singapore? We’re here to help you use your time well, so you don’t miss out on an unforgettable experience.

Here are five of the best tourist sites you absolutely must visit in this thrilling, vibrant city:

Gardens by the Bay

This otherworldly attraction is like nowhere else on earth. Towering steel supertree forests, vertical gardens and futuristic domed conservatories dominate the skyline of this unique Singapore park.

A winner of many architecture awards, Gardens by the Bay is a huge playground for visitors of all ages, effortlessly blending nature and technology. There’s a skywalk over the gardens, which boasts more than 200 species of flowers and plants, along with lightshows, misty greenhouses and even lakes for dragonflies and kingfishers.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens and National Orchid Garden

For such a modern, technologically-advanced city, Singapore certainly has a love affair with nature. Its beautiful Botanic Gardens are a must-see, home to 10,000 plant species and one of the leading orchid research centres in the world.

The gardens, which date back to 1859, are peaceful, expansive and filled with insects, birds and wildlife. This is the perfect place to recharge your batteries. There’s even a dedicated children’s garden complete with treehouses, a farm and a suspension bridge.

Singapore Zoo

Animal lovers from all over the world flock to Singapore Zoo, which is known for its large enclosures and ‘open’ captivity model. This means hardly any metal fences or invasive barriers, as the zoo uses moats and other natural barriers instead. So, you should be sure of a great view of 300+ amazing animal species, many of which are part of conservation efforts.

Chinatown Food Street

Want to know why Singapore is known as a foodie paradise? Head to Chinatown and its famous food street. Here, you’ll find a mouth-watering selection of hawker (street food) stalls, where you can tuck into signature local delicacies such as Hainanese chicken rice, spicy chilli crab steamed buns, laksa and sambal stingray.

There’s even the chance to take in some culture with your lunch, as the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is just at the end of the street.

Singapore Flyer

The best way to experience this buzzing city of lights is up high. There are lots of ways to do this, including with a cocktail in hand from a Marina Bay Sands rooftop bar. But if you’re playing tourist, do it properly and take a seat on the world-famous Singapore Flyer.

At a whopping 165 metres high, it’s one of the world’s tallest Ferris wheels. Hop on during the day and again at night to enjoy completely different but equally breathtaking panoramic views of the city.
