Introduction
On the edge of the Namib Desert sits the Hoodia Desert Lodge. It’s an incredible place that embraces the peace and quiet of the desert and acts as a great base for exploring the surrounding landscape. Drive just 20 minutes to Sesriem and you’ll discover the world-famous orange sand dunes that make Sossusvlei so famous.
The lodge is made up of 11 luxury chalets that are well spread-out, to give guests all the privacy they need to appreciate this beautiful environment.
The interiors of the chalets are decorated in warm reds and browns, and have a few traditional Namibian items to give each room a flourish of local character.
All the chalets have indoor bathrooms and open-air showers with a large bathtub. They also have a private shaded deck where guests can sit and enjoy the incredible landscape.
Go out at night and look up at the stars; there’s no light pollution here so the sky is incredibly bright.
Facilities
The lodge’s main building has an outside lounge deck, but it’s the pool that’s the real draw. It’s a great place to cool off and relax after a long day of sightseeing.
The on-site restaurant serves a range of international and local dishes that will make your mouth water. Try as many as you can – they’re all delicious!
There’s also a great bar that serves a range of drinks, including cocktails, that will leave you feeling totally refreshed.
