Introduction

The name ‘Ongava Tented Camp’ undersells this charming little eight-roomed hideaway on the border of the Etosha National Park. Yes, it may be described as a ‘safari-style camp’, but it provides a luxurious and indulgent place to stay in the heart of the wilderness.

Hidden in the foothills of the Ongava Game Reserve, it’s easy to miss this spot, but trust us, that would be a big mistake.

The Ongava Tented Camp has eight Meru-style tents for you to choose from. All of them have en-suite bathrooms, open-air showers and private verandas where you can watch the animals go by.

Facilities

The main building of the camp is made from a mix of stone, canvas and thatch and looks straight out onto a waterhole.

This is the perfect spot to see rhinos, lions and other plains’ game come to have a drink. Though sometimes, these animals prefer to drink out of the swimming pool, so look out for that too!

Spend your evenings sitting around the campfire looking up at the stars. It’s a great place to reflect on the day’s events or just enjoy the fantastic unpolluted view of the sky.
