The Sossusvlei Lodge sits right at the entrance to the Namib Naukluft Park. Because of this, it has direct access to the sand dunes, the iconic salt pans of Sossusvlei and the blackened trees of Deadvlei.
This access makes a huge difference to travellers because it means they can get to the dunes easily before sunrise and get back shortly after sunset. It’s well worth making these trips as seeing the sun rise or set over the dunes is an unforgettable experience.
There are different types of accommodation for different budgets at Sossusvlei Lodge. If you opt for Superior Units, you’ll have a large patio where you can enjoy views of the dunes.
The Standard Units have en-suite bathrooms, but you can’t be guaranteed a view. The elegant Junior Suite has a spacious bedroom, living area and a patio, with a splash pool to cool off in. Plus, the view is incredible!
Even if you don’t opt for a suite, there’s still a pool available to all guests. It’s located in the main part of the lodge along with a bar, sundowner deck, beer garden, and an al fresco terrace.
This terrace has fantastic views of the waterhole, so you might see an animal or two while you’re eating.
The adventure centre at Sossusvlei Lodge is fantastic; it provides a range of activities for guests and visitors from other hotels.
Take a guided trip around Sossusvlei, walk along the Elim Dunes, go for a quad buggy nature drive or even try hot-air ballooning.
