Introduction
Hidden in the 22,000 hectares of the Greater Makalali Private Game Reserve, lies a little slice of paradise called the Garonga Safari Camp offering accommodation in six luxury tents. It’s just west of the famous Kruger National Park, but doesn’t have as many tourists travelling around as it’s a private reserve, not public.
If you go out on a game drive here you might well see all of the ‘big five’; lions, rhinos, elephants, leopards and African buffalos all call this place home. You’ll also probably see giraffes, antelopes, hyenas, cheetahs, hippos, zebras and more when you’re out with one of the expert guides.
The tented units here are minimalist in style, but have a few luxurious comforts that will make you want to stay forever. Although, if you do want to venture outside your tent, the hotel can arrange an indulgent outdoor bubble bath or a sleep out in the bush!
