Introduction

Kosi Forest Lodge is an eco-friendly resort in the Kosi Bay Nature Reserve on the Elephant Coast. Simple yet stylish, it is situated at the heart of the community, so guests will travel through small villages on making their way to this secluded forest location.

Offering a sense of peace and tranquillity, guests can escape from the rush of it all and enjoy the natural setting and wildlife this stunning resort has to offer. Specifically known for its vast array of birdlife and home to 340 species, if you’re a keen birdwatcher, you’ll certainly be in your element here.

The accommodation is made up of small thatched suites, raised on wooden decks. There are six forest rooms with a choice of double or twin and two family rooms, which have two chalets each.

Each suite features its own unique outdoor bathroom with a separate sunken bath and shower – suggested by our visitors as one of the main highlights of their stay. The lodges have no electricity whatsoever, but this just adds to the peace and quiet of cutting yourself off from the norms of everyday life.

Facilities

Making your way to the lounge, you won’t miss the huge Zulu podberry tree situated in the middle of the main lounge, bar and dining room. This opens out onto a large wooden deck, surrounded by lush forest.

The main lodge is where guests come to relax and mingle, and there’s a small library to browse through at your leisure. Many guests choose to have a drink around the campfire before dinner to add to the romantic atmosphere. Activities in the local area include canoeing, birdwatching, forest walks and scuba-diving.
