Introduction
The Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge is set within the Manyoni Private Game Reserve. There’s almost 23,000 hectares for you to explore here, and within them hide the ‘big five’ and some other famous African animals. If you’re lucky, and have some help from the rangers, you’ll see lions, rhinos, elephants, leopards and African buffalo plus cheetah, African wild dogs and more.
The lodge has eight chalets to stay in and is the perfect place for wildlife lovers as it gives you a much better chance of seeing animals than in the busier public reserves. If you choose to visit, you’ll sleep in a luxurious stone and thatch chalet. The large, open showers have incredible views of the valley.
Some people say that these views are the best in Zululand. You’ll also be able to enjoy them from your private deck. Look out for the Msunduze River winding through the trees and the Lebombo Mountains sprouting from the ground in the distance.
Facilities
The chalets have their own private plunge pool, hammock and sun loungers, which also have incredible views. However, if you want to relax even more, head to the lodge’s spa; the treatments here are guaranteed to revitalise you.
Make sure to go out at night and look up at the starry sky; it’ll take your breath away. You can dine on the main deck, in the dining room or in the boma under the stars; the food here is incredible and freshly prepared.
