Introduction

The 23-roomed Mimosa Lodge is the perfect place to relax on your way down scenic Route 62. A few days here will help you unwind and refresh yourself, before continuing on the rest of your South African adventure.

From here you can explore a lot of the area’s wine route. Head to some of the local wineries in Robertson Valley for a more intimate experience or go further afield to tourist favourites such as the towns of Ashton and Swellendam. Make sure you visit the nearby hot springs, rock climbing spots and hiking trails – it’s the best way to see Montagu’s incredible landscape.

Each room in the lodge has an en-suite bathroom. The rooms sit right beside, often overlooking, the beautiful garden. It really is a little slice of paradise that you’ll find difficult to forget.

Stroll around the oasis-like gardens; they are the perfect spot to relax. There’s a beautiful pool where you can cool off, or just take in the sun on the loungers next to the water.

If things get a bit hot outside, you can always go inside and find a spot in one of the Art Deco style lounges – bring a book and you could easily stay there all day.

The hotel’s restaurant is absolutely superb; it focuses on local, fresh and seasonal produce and is always making new and exciting dishes. Add in the Mimosa Fine Boutique Wines that are handcrafted by the chef and a local winemaker and you’ll have meals here that you’ll remember for years to come.
