Introduction
As the name suggests, the Phinda Mountain Lodge is perched at the top of a mountain on the Phinda Game Reserve. It has a total of 25 suites to stay in and its elevated position gives visitors fantastic views of the reserve, so you have a great chance of spotting some of the local animals. All the ‘Big Five’ live in this reserve, so you might see leopards, lions, elephants, rhinos, African buffalo and more. Go out on a game drive for the best chance to see them all.
The Phinda Mountain Lodge has a few different accommodation options for visitors. There are suites, family cottages and family suites to choose from. All have private plunge pools and outdoor showers, so you’ll have a little bit of luxury during your stay. They also have private decks where you can watch the world go by and relax. If you want to ease your aches and pains after a long day of exploring, opt for an in-room massage. All your tension will melt away.
Facilities
The lodge itself has a larger shaded pool where you can relax or swim a few laps. There’s also a safari shop, a library and a boma where you can relax. The lodge puts on game drives two times a day as well as Zulu village tours, bush walks and night-time turtle drives. You could even try scuba and ocean safaris and black rhino tracking if you’re looking for something different to do.
