Nha Trang, Vietnam Plan a trip
The capital of the Khánh Hòa province on the south coast of Vietnam, Nha Trang attracts foreign visitors from across the globe due to its white, sandy beaches and bustling atmosphere. A few centuries ago, Nha Trang was a small fishing village, however following French colonization, the destination was seen to have potential to attract visitors – and it hasn’t looked back!
Situated in an arc of sand and surrounded by turquoise waters, the bay is considered one of the best in the world – and a great place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. If lying on the beach isn’t your thing, you can stroll through the green parks and sculpture gardens which are located directly behind. One of the key sights of the resort is the huge white Buddha which sits at the top of the hill behind nearby Long Son Pagoda. This imposing figure can be viewed across the city, but to get up-close-and-personal, you’ll need to be fit enough to climb over 150 steps leading to up to it!
The centre of Nha Trang has an upbeat, party vibe; filled with trendy bars and restaurants and brimming with chic boutiques for the shopaholics amongst you. If you’d prefer to give the hustle and bustle a miss, you could opt for more relaxed activities such as a gentle river cruise, a luxurious spa treatment or a visit to the Alexandre Yersin Museum.
It has to be said that Nha Trang is one of the more touristy coastal cities in Vietnam, and won’t be to everyone’s taste, but for those who like a lively vibe and a stunning beach – it makes for a great option.
