Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge, Mudumu & Nkasa Lupala National Park
Mid-range - £££
Introduction
The Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge sits on the riverbank of one of the channels of the Kwando-Linyanti river system. It’s an incredible position, where you can see the wonders of the Namibian wetlands drift past you or you can go out and get into the heart of the action.
This is the first lodge build in the Nkasa Lupala National Park and it has dedicated itself to protecting the local environment for the animals and the people who visit it. This is an incredible achievement and is just part of the reason why the Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge is becoming so popular.
The Nkasa Lupala Lodge has ten luxury tents made from a combination of steel, canvas, and wood. They all have en-suite bathroom facilities and great views of the wetlands.
Facilities
To find the communal areas, you’ll have to wind your way down the paths, but it’s well worth it.
There’s a fantastic bar which serves a range of cocktails, a dining room where delicious local dishes are served, and a lounge where you can relax after a long day of sightseeing.
If you don’t fancy staying in one of the tents, you can stay at the Rupara Campsite that overlooks the Harubandi Channel.
There are plenty of activities to try during your stay here; go on a game drive to see elephants, buffalo, hippos, lions, leopards and more or take a boat cruise to explore the unique landscape.
You can also visit the local villages or take part in a night drive to see how this area comes to life after dark!
Why We Love It
We love The Nkasa Lupala Lodge because it’s in a remote natural spot, and the owners are dedicated to eco-tourism.
