Action-Packed Thailand: Jungle Treks, Village Stays & Kayaking Krabi

This 2 week Thailand adventure itinerary travels from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai and Krabi, combining city life, historic sites, jungle landscapes and time by the coast in one varied journey. It’s ideal for travellers looking to experience a more immersive side of Thailand.

The journey moves from Bangkok’s energy into the rivers and landscapes of Kanchanaburi and the ancient ruins of Ayutthaya, before continuing north to Chiang Mai for culture and nature, and finishing in Krabi with beaches, islands and time to unwind.

The itinerary below is shown as an example route. Every journey we create is planned from scratch, and can be adapted — unless you like it exactly as it is.

  • Day 1 - Overnight Flight

    The adventure begins as you board your overnight flight to Bangkok!

  • Day 2 - Bangkok

    Touch down at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport and meet your guide who will transfer you to your hotel.

  • Day 3 - Bangkok - Kanchanaburi

    Discover Bangkok on the Historic Bangkok Cycling Tour. Wind through the back streets of suburban, lesser known, parts of the city, until you come across the likes of the famous Rama VIII bridge, the Noi Canal and the stunning Wat Arun.

    Visit more landmarks and soak in the vibe before heading deep into the jungle to the Kanchanaburi in the evening.

  • Day 4 - Kanchanaburi

    This morning you'll head off the beaten track to the magical Erawan Waterfall, where you'll hike its terraces and take a dip in its fresh water pools.

    After a full day of exploring you'll head back to your floating lodge on the famous River Kwai

  • Day 5 - Kanchanaburi

    After breakfast, your expert local guide will take you on a bike ride starting at the infamous Bridge over the River Kwai area.

    Visit the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and learn all about how the area was shaped by WW2 before heading to the Thailand Burma Railway Centre - an interactive museum with a real human touch.

  • Day 6 - Ayutthaya

    Today you'll unearth another beautiful city to discover and a former imperial capital, Ayutthaya.

    Start by visiting the Ayutthaya Historical Study Centre then set off on a cycle to Bang Pa-in the Summer Palace, stopping en-route to take in the stunning Wat Chaiwattanaram and Ayutthaya’s Portuguese Settlement.

    After the tour, board a long tail motor boat for the journey back to Ayutthaya, and enjoy the picturesque scenery that lies on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

    In the evening, transfer by local Tuk Tuk to Ayuthaya Railway Station for overnight train to Chiang Mai

  • Day 7 - Chiang Mai

    The nest two days consist of a tropical jungle trek - an unforgettable experience!

    Pass through and interact with a variety of hill tribe villages, you'll stay in a different village each night.

    While here you'll help villagers prepare food for their families, and hear stories about life here in Thailand's countryside.

  • Day 8 - Chiang Mai

    Enjoy the second day of your jungle trekking experience. Another day taking in the real Thailand.

  • Day 9 - Chiang Mai

    After a short final trek this morning, transfer back to Chiang Mai City and spend the rest of the day enjoying a well-earned. Lounge by the pool, or perhaps treat yourself to a spa pampering - Thai style!

  • Day 10 - Chiang Mai

    Your expert local guide will take via tuk tuk to learn more about Thailand's Lanna Period at Wat Chedi Luang, where you will experience the unique architecture and various forms of Buddhism. Crucial to the way of life for Thai people.

    Continue on to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the most revered Buddhist shrine in the Chiang Mai region.

    In the afternoon, depart to Chiang Mai Airport for taking a domestic flight to Krabi. A paradise region famous for white sand beaches.

  • Day 11 - Krabi

    After an action-packed couple weeks, relax and unwind in the beautiful Krabi.

  • Day 12 - Krabi

    Head off on another adventure - a mini kayaking expedition.

    Ride through the caves and narrow channels at the Ban Bor Thor National Park. Head to Tham Lod Cave and then discover Tham Lod Nua and see the cave paintings and drawings.

  • Day 13 - Krabi

    Enjoy another free day at leisure in beautiful Krabi

  • Day 14 - Krabi

    After breakfast, a special day trip to sign off your action-packed trip in style.

    Head to Ao Thalane and explore the natural beauty of this little-known but truly breathtaking area by boat.

    Continue to Hong Island, home to an emerald lagoon, to enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear sea water with shallow coral reefs and fine sand beaches

  • Day 15 - Overnight Flight

    You'll have most of the day at leisure to enjoy the resort before heading to Krabi airport for your flight back home
