This 2 week Namibia and Mauritius itinerary combines a self-drive journey through Namibia, travelling from Okonjima Bush Camp to Damaraland and Swakopmund, before continuing to Mauritius, balancing adventure with time on the beach. It’s ideal for travellers looking to experience both independence and relaxation in one trip.
The journey shifts not just in location but in pace, moving from remote landscapes and long, open drives to a slower coastal rhythm, where days are shaped by the sea and space to unwind.

- Day 1 - Overnight Flight
Congrats on your wedding! Your African honeymoon begins with an overnight flight to Windhoek, Namibia's capital.
- Day 2 - Okonjima Bush Camp
Meet our representative at Windhoek International Airport who will provide you with everything you need for your self-drive safari.
Drive North West onto the Okonjima Bush Camp, located at the base of the Omboroko Mountains near Waterberg. Visit the wonderful AfriCat Foundation - a wildlife sanctuary which focuses on the research and rehabilitation of Africa's big cats.
- Day 3 - Okonjima Bush Camp
Spend the day partaking in various activities, learning about the function and vision of the AfriCat Foundation.
Enjoy more excursions before heading back to your luxurious safari chalet to relax
- Day 4 - Damaraland
Head West into the heart of Damaraland - one of the most beautiful and bizarre landscapes in Africa - travelling via the towns of Otjiwarongo, Outjo and Khorixas where you will arrive at your intimate lodge.
- Day 5 - Damaraland
Join on a morning activity, which departs into the ephemeral Aba Huab River valley to explore this remarkable region and to search for wildlife, in particular the elusive desert adapted elephants - Damaraland is home to one of only two groups of this species in the world.
- Day 6 - Swakopmund
Drive to Namibia's breezy coastal getaway, Swakopmund. Explore the centre of town and walk down to the waterfront and take in the chilled atmosphere and colonial German architecture.
Enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant overlooking the Atlantic.
- Day 7 - Swakopmund
Continue along the scenic coastal road back south to Walvis Bay for a memorable kayaking adventure within the outer lagoon.
After meeting your kayaking guide you will be taken on a short scenic row to Pelican Point to see the old lighthouse and giant seal colonies
- Day 8 - Johannesburg
This morning you drive along the coast to Walvis Bay Airport, drop off the rental car and head onto your onward flight to Johannesburg.
This afternoon you'll head to the sobering but excellently curated Apartheid Museum with an expert guide to learn all about South Africa's troubled past and how the country has flourished in its recovery.
- Day 9 - Mauritius
Time to head for the paradise island of Mauritius!
Upon arrival in MRU you'll be met and transferred by private car to the stunning southern coast.
- Day 10 - Mauritius
Today is your first full day to relax on the white sands at your hotel's beautiful beach.
- Day 11 - Mauritius
Another day at leisure in paradise.
- Day 12 - Mauritius
If you fancy exploring the island, head to the Chamarel area of outstanding natural beauty for hiking and to see the famous '7 coloured earth'
- Day 13 - Mauritius
A final day at leisure to relax and reflect on your epic trip to Namibia & Mauritius.
