Bright lights & Desert Nights: Cape Town to Windhoek

Touch down in Cape Town and meet your guide who will transfer you to your accommodation.

In the afternoon, see the glorious Cape Town skyline from atop the world famous Table Mountain.

Take a visit to the infamous Robben Island today where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. Now, it is a world heritage site and museum which acts as a focal point of his story - an important start to any South African visit.

Time to start your epic road trip. Your rental car will be dropped ar your hotel. Head towards Franschhoek and the lovely Lavender Farm Guest House where you will be staying.

Enjoy a free day in Franschhoek - take the car for a spin and explore the area and relax back at the guest house set amidst glorious lavender fields with a dramatic mountain backdrop.

If you like, we can arrange a trip on the town's famous wine tram.

Make the short drive to Stellenbosch, a beautiful Dutch style colonial university town with a fantastic variety of restaurants and cool wine bars.

Set-off to the glorious spot of Clanwilliam, in the dramatic Cederberg Mountains today. The ride is beautiful, with stunning scenery along the route.

Explore the area and take a drive among the beautiful lakes and mountains, stopping off for a bite to eat. Head back to the lodge and put your feet up with a glass (or bottle!) of wine.

Your next stop is the charming coastal town of Paternoster.

Paternoster is chronically overlooked. Peaceful with a gorgeous, rugged beach, it's a fantastic stopover as you head north.

Enjoy a free day by the ocean. Have a look around town, grab some food, go for a leisurely hike or rest back at the guest house

This is your last stop in South Africa. Enjoy another spectacular scenic drive up to Springbok, a little-visited part of the country.

Rest-up as tomorrow you head for Namibia!

Leave Springbok for Namibia in the morning. Head north along the coast towards the unusual and charming German colonial town of Lüderitz.

Pay a visit to the the eerie 'ghost' diamond mining town of Kolmanskop with a guide. Learn about its rich & fascinating history at the centre of the Namibian diamond trade.

Today, hit the road on a beautiful drive to the famous Sossusvlei.

You'll stay at the Sossusvlei Lodge, perfectly located and surrounded by the desert beauty of the Namib Naukluft Park.

Rise early for a guided excursion to Sossusvlei, Deadvlei and Dune 45.

Enter the Namib Naukluft National Park gates and witness the mesmerising shift in landscape as the sun starts to rise, capturing the towering shapes and curves of the dunes.

The area feels almost other worldly!

The Kalahari awaits today - head west to the Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge. This evening you'll go on the search for wildlife on guided sundowner drive.

Make your way back to the Windhoek area and arrive at Gocheganas - with its luxurious private suites sitting among the wildlife and nature.

The lodge is perfect for a day of relaxing. Enjoy a range of spa treatments or partaking in one or more of the optional guided wildlife activities offered by the lodge.

This morning after breakfast you drive back to Windhoek for your final night in Namibia. After checking-in you will be collected by for your “Windhoek Redefined” tour - a unique tour where you will meet extraordinary local artists for a unique insight into Namibian life.

Your incredible South African and Namibian adventure has come to an end. Transfer to the Windhoek International Airport for your onward flight home.
