Adventurous Luxury: Cycling the Namib

Day 1 - Overnight Flight
Your adventure begins with an overnight flight to Windhoek.

Day 2 - Windhoek
Once you land in Windhoek, your guide will transfer you to your hotel and fill you in on the adventure ahead.

Day 3 - Sossusvlei
After breakfast, jump in your safari car with your guide and drive southwest through the scenic Khomas highlands before heading down the Great Escarpment into the Namib Desert. Here, you will hop on your bike for a short ride to take in the astonishing scenery.
Arrive at Sossus Under Canvas in the afternoon where you will be staying for three nights whilst you explore the remarkable Namib Desert.

Day 4 - Sossusvlei
Rise early for a magical excursion into the Namib Naukluft National Park. Capture the dunes at sunrise creating a spectacle of colours and shapes. Gain an insight into the formation of the Namib Desert and its myriad of fascinating creatures and plants. Your camera is a must as the views are absolutely breathtaking.

Day 5 - Sossusvlei
Enjoy a fascinating excursion to the top of the reserve’s plateau. Absorb the vastness of the endless desert plains and some of the best views out over the Namib Desert. In the afternoon, head out to explore the private reserve on your bike.

Day 6 - Swakopmund
Enjoy a fascinating drive today that takes you northwest through ever-changing desert landscapes of the Namib Naukluft National Park, including the impressive Gaub and Kuiseb canyons. Reach the coast at the port town of Walvis Bay and then continue north to Swakopmund where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 7 - Swakopmund
After an early breakfast your guide will drive you along the scenic coastal road back south to Walvis Bay for a memorable kayaking adventure within the outer lagoon.
Then, head out on a short scenic drive to Pelican Point where you'll see the lighthouse and incredible wildlife including; Cape fur seals, Heavside and bottlenose dolphins, pelicans, flamingos and a variety of sea birds.
In the afternoon, embark on a cycling tour to understand the history of the town, visit local markets, glide through the streets and stop-off for food.

Day 8 - Damaraland
Your safari will take you to the wonderful and diverse region of Damaraland today. Pass Brandberg - Namibia's highest mountain where you will be able to view game along with the magnificent table topped mountains, rock formations and vegetation.

Day 9 - Damaraland
After an early breakfast, embark on an exciting 4x4 ride along the ephemeral Aba Huab River valley to explore this remarkable region and to search for game - in particular the desert adapted elephant. One of only two populations on Earth!
If you haven't done so by now, you guide will arrange a visit to Twyfelfontein and other nearby attractions.

Day 10 - Etosha National Park
Today you head for the famous Etosha National Park.
Along the way, you'll visit a local Himba settlement - one of the last truly traditional peoples of Namibia, before stopping by the small town of Kamanjab and onwards to Ongava Lodge and the park.
This evening you'll enjoy your first game drive.

Day 11 - Etosha National Park
Enjoy a day of exciting game drives in the Etosha National Park.
Kick back and relax at your beautiful lodge & perhaps catch some rays by the pool in the afternoon between drives.
Alternatively head out further across the park in the area around Halali and Okaukuejoan.

Day 12 - AfriCat Foundation
Enjoy a leisurely morning in the comforts of the lodge.
Make the most of a tasty breakfast, a bit of pampering and a swim looking out over the stunning landscape surrounding the lodge.
In the afternoon, you'll head for Okonjima. Here you'll see the AfriCat Foundation projects - a wildlife sanctuary dedicated to creating conservation awareness, preserving habitat and supporting animal welfare.

Day 13 - Overnight Flight
Drive back to Windhoek International Airport for your onward flight.
